Care-Needs and Health Data Disclosure

When you tell us about a loved one's care needs, you are sharing sensitive information. This page explains exactly how we handle it.

What is care-needs information?

When you use our matching service, we ask about the type of care needed (independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing home care, or in-home care) and your relationship to the person seeking care. We treat this information as sensitive health-adjacent data regardless of whether it is technically classified as health data under applicable law.

How we use care-needs information

Matching only. We use care-needs information solely to match you with senior living communities that offer the type of care you need.
No advertising targeting. We never use care-needs information to target you with advertising or to build advertising profiles.
No AI training. We do not use care-needs information to train AI or machine-learning models.

Who we share it with

We share care-needs information only with the partner communities on our Partner List that you explicitly consent to contact you. We also share it with LeadPedia, our data processor, under a Data Processing Agreement that prohibits LeadPedia from using the information for its own purposes.

We do not share care-needs information with data brokers, insurers, employers, or any party not involved in your senior living search.

Retention

We retain care-needs information for up to 24 months from your last interaction with us. If you request deletion, we will delete it within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.

Florida memory care disclosures (HB 493)

Florida House Bill 493 (effective July 1, 2025) requires assisted living facilities that advertise memory care services to provide specific disclosures about specialised services, staff training, certifications, admittance criteria, and contract terms. These disclosures are the legal responsibility of each facility. Where a facility has provided us with its HB 493 disclosures, we link to them on the relevant community page. Where disclosures have not been provided, we will note this on the community page.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your care-needs information at any time by contacting us at [email protected] or visiting Do Not Sell or Share.
